Political Online Gambling Supporter Barney Frank Retires in 2012
Politician Barney Frank has announced that he will be retiring from politics next year. Frank has been a part of the American political system since 1981 and is especially known for his efforts to legalize online gambling in the United States.
During many of his estimated 30 years in office, Barney Frank discussed the many advantages and benefits of legalizing internet gambling with his peers. He had also encouraged his fellow politicians to devise their own bills in favor of online gambling.
When the Enforcement of Unlawful Internet Gambling came into effect in 2006, Frank had taken strict measures to cancel the bill. Furthermore, in 2007 he authored two bills, HR 2046 and HR 2267, the latter being accepted by the House Financial Committee.
Even though Frank has never been successful at pushing through any of his proposed gambling regulations, his contribution in support of the online gambling industry has been significant.
